Barack Obama: Son of Promise Child of Hope

My wife brought this home from the library today (I'd like to send a big shout out to librarians everywhere except Wasilla AK! We love you!). I'm halfway through it, right up to the part where Barack Obama is compared to Joseph of Egypt. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I believe that's Obama's first autobiography. He wrote two, you know.

Think another 2 or 3 are probably in the works?

This isn't an autobiography. It was penned by Nikki Grimes and illustrated by Bryan Collier.

AMong other ways, Barry and Johnny offer an interesting contrast in how they seem ot perceive others' perceptions of them. Barry seems ot think everyone either 1. loves him; or, 2. will love him, if they get to know him. McCain, OTOH, seems ot think no one will is likely to love him, and he doesn't care, as long as he can get what he wants. Not sure which one would be better in the white house.

Before Cali has a coronary and types a response so long his fingers bleed, let me say that my thought here is nothing more than sheer speculation. But, as Don Henley so wisely sang so many years ago: "I might be wrong, but I'm not."

Yeah, our midwestern librarians don't fool around. Their reshelving time is un-freaking-real.

Clearly my sarcasm wasn't thick enough.
