Rainy, gray city with a bunch of poseurs you would enjoy punching in the nose.

Veritable Portland slumdogs.

on top of the NW being a bastion of grumpy atheists.

Hippies tend to not understand that communes don't generate enough income to pay the bills.

you won't be flaunting your enlightenment when all that rainfall gives you depression and thereby make you lose your faith in God.

I've never been to Seattle (except the airport). So I'm not going to knock it, til I've rocked it.

But if it is anything like Portland, it's not for me. Except in short bursts of a few days every couple years.

Moron, this is what the article is about:

Quote:

The worst recession in a generation is disrupting migration patterns and overturning lives across the country. Yet, cities like Portland, along with Austin, Texas, Seattle and others, continue to be draws for the young, educated workers that communities and employers covet. What these cities share is a hard-to-quantify blend of climate, natural beauty, universities and -- more than anything else -- a reputation as a cool place to live. .
See it says the climate and quality of life are superb. It isn't even that the economy is worse in the coveted places. It's just that the employment problem is made more acute because these places are so coveted they keep getting an influx of new blood.

I wonder how Farrah feels about this.

It's coveted by the kinds of yuppies you want to punch in the nose.
