"The Quiet Coup"

Listening to Fresh Air on NPR today, heard from this guy who wrote this piece in the Atlantic.

Very interesting stuff. I haven't read the article yet, but I did listen to about 30 minutes of what he had to say.

He essentially argues that this country is being run, to some degree, by an Oligarchy in the financial sector, and that is a mistake.

To an extent, he has started a movement, from people on both the left and right. I will definitely read this, as it sounds like some of his ideas are quite influential, even if not necessarily original.

This is not some guy with a tinfoil hat, this is the former chief economist at the IMF and current professor at MIT.

That's a fantastic article, and articulated many things I sensed but would not have been able to articulate.

It's not something you will find on Drudge, which is in the financiers back pocket.

I'm disturbed at the great transfer of wealth that is going on, through the govt., to the bankers.

He was on Colbert Report if you wanna check out the interview.

MSN Jim Jubak wrote about the Heist of our money to banks.

A private central banking system (Fed) controlling our monetary policy (and by extension, basically the U.S. government) and we're surprised when we're robbed blind? Andrew Jackson knew what he was talking about. FDR, for all his faults and socialist/fascist tendencies had it right when he reined in these crooks. TIme to bring back Glass-Steagel.

we need a quiet revolution to counter this quiet coup/junta.

"taxation with crappy representation"

The whole system makes me sick. My House Rep. is awful, but she's an urban democrat in an urban poor district, and there is no chance anyone better will beat her. (As an aside she scores an F from the NRA).

We need to KICK THE BASTARDS OUT, and not just the faux revolution of clown Gingrich.

This is interesting. The Atlantic likes to run this iconoclastic, somewhat fear mongering kind of stuff. But this time I absolutely believe it.
