New anti-mormon dvd released on 3/25

Check this out:

http://en.fairmormon.org/index.php/S..._the_Truth_DVD

If any of you find a DVD attached to your doorknob tomorrow, you will know that you have a friend or neighbor who loves you and wants you to be saved from the pernicious mormon cult.

Check out the letter to distributors:

http://en.fairmormon.org/index.php/S...uth_DVD:letter

This is my favorite part:

Quote:

CAUTION: This video is to be viewed by CHRISTIANS ONLY until AFTER the nation-wide distribution which is scheduled for March 25, 2007. In-other-words, do not allow any Mormon people to view the video or learn of our intended evangelistic outreach until after March 25, 2007.
Why such extreme caution? If the leadership of the Mormon cult learns of our plans, they will publicly instruct their people not to watch the video and many Mormons will blindly obey.
A big focus of distribution will be in Utah. I am guessing our old buddy aaronshaf will be busy for a while.

Thanks for the chuckle, Rocky. :)

About the DVD:

It's amazing how far some people will go, eh? I'll be watching closely for whomever may want to leave it at my door (if it happens), and open the door and ask them why they blatantly ignored the "No soliciting, dammit" sign.

I can play the game too.

FAIR might be licensed to use it. I would imagine the Church licenses certain groups to use terms and licenses associated with the Church. OTH, Mormon is probably not protected intellectual property so the anti's won't be infringing upon protected rights by the use of "Mormon."

However, the Tanners were sued when they published the Handbook of General Instructions on the web. The Church won as the Tanners did not have a copyright on it and could not use or display it publcly.

I am reading the section on Eternal Life and the counterpoints to all the claims on the DVD. It is quite humorous as every claim is supported by LDS doctrine yet the DVD is purporting that we DON'T believe any of what they are saying. Nice research.

Why would you bother to waste your time with them?

I found it interesting to read FAIR's conterpoints. How much these anti's know NOTHING about our religion is a hoot.

I was amused by the repeated use of the false dichotomy: "Should we worship Josepth Smith or Jesus?"

I was also struck by how much all of this must have cost. The letter mentions that much of this paid for by a donation from a single individual.
