Ben Olson press interview
http://cbs2.com/sports/local_story_247010641.html
plenty of opportunities to talk about his mission, his family. I was impressed. He's doing a lot of good for the Church. Here's to a hard-fought battle Saturday. go Cougs! |
good for him. I hope he gets his head knocked off on Sat.

Too bad CB isn't on the team anymore, he could have given BO the Steve Tate treatment. |
I wish nothing but a case of football herpes upon him. A sow's ear can't be dressed up like a silk purse.
In the football arena, those endeavoring to appear magnanimous don't understand football. There is nothing to be magnanimous about here. He left believing his shiz don't smell and it does. Now with that said, my wishes will probably not come true and he is likely to have a very good game against us. However, a few hard sacks would make me smile. |

water under the bridge. Max Hall is doing fine in his first year. No need to be bitter.
PR for The Church is always a good thing. Go Cougs! |

Other than that he is a TO Lance and myself, a proud Simi Valley Pioneer, have other reasons to righteously hope he acquires a case of syphilis. I do hope, however, that his good and virtuous daughter in Zion lovely wife is somehow protected for contracting syphilis from him. I don't know I will give them some toilet seat covers or something..... |

The problem with this attitude is that it's such a slippery slope. You start by wishing Benedict Olson well and before you know it, you're cheering for the LDS athletes at the U. You're either with us or you're against us! |
Bronco was asked about BO. Said something like "I've never met Ben Olson. I have met his dad but I've never talked to Ben."
Some of you may remember there was a post on CB from someone that knew BO that said Bronco ran into BO's dad at a wedding or something and they had a little pridefest over the definition of honesty and integrity. You also may remember that Ben was still up in the air about where to go when Bronco was hired. There's no excuse for Bronco not getting on an airplane to visit with Ben and try to smoothing things over, or at least talking to him on the phone. IF we had QB issues and IF Bronco hasn't done a million right things in a row and IF Bronco hadn't shown willingness to swallow his pride on a number of other things--like his 3-3-5 defense, I might make a big deal out of it. But I'm not gonna. Ben Olson is a specimem. I had a man crush on him since watching him in a fall scrimmage as an 18 yo frosh. Tall, solid build. Effortlessly threw deep outs. Confident, smart. Could move around the pocket. He was the future. It was tough seeing him leave, and Bronco had his part in it. But I'm over it. Let's kill him. |

The kids ego gets on steroids thanks to parents. I don't know how things might have turned out, but I do know how they did turn out. I wouldn't trade a Bronco M. for 5 BO's. I think a good precedent was sent. Bronco doesn't kiss parents butts, at least I hope that precedent was sent. By the way whether Ben is successful or not outside of playing BYU, I really honestly don't care. If he is great fine, if he sucks fine. He isn't a BYU, MWC conf. football player. I guess if push came to shove I would cheer for him over some Baptist QB playing for Harvard. |

Saying that, I always take the sacrament with the right hand, despise facial hair (save when thesbian duties call for such), own 4 white dress shirts and have gone totally monogomous (despite being married in the Temple of our God) once I learned my little swimmers have the strength of an out pattern thrown by Bob Rice's Grandson and have a Lloyd Christmas like chance of hitting the ol target. |

Saying that I would not trade Bronco Mendenhall for 1000000000 Ben Olsen's. UCLA will have a couple of solid teams the next two years and I think they will beat BYU this year. However, I do think that BYU is gonna do some good things as well the next couple years and I believe Bennie will have his moments of red-headed syphilis carrying sobriety where he wonders "what if.." I on the other hand will not. ;) |

Lloyd Christmas has a slim chance, but hey, he did eventually get the luggage where it needed to be. |

I hope BO gets his world rocked on Saturday. I wish nothing but ill on him in return for his dishonesty. I don't care how many little speeches he gives about his great mission experience, blah, blah, blah...actions speak louder than words. What he did was selfish and shows a lack of honesty and integrity, and I pray that we see him body slammed to the turf on Saturday more than once.

It's unfair and inconsistent to say he misrepresented the church by "lying" by changing his mind on his mission and transferring schools. We have our starting QB for the same reason. |

It should be a matter of principle that we hate those that suddenly step over and join Santa Ana.

Nice Leon White reference. Then I take it that Nixon is Kurt Gouveia to Kehl's Leon White? Those were heady days. |
