Three "replacements" made to the Presidency of the Seventy

http://www.lds.org/portal/site/LDSOr...00176f620a____

Richard Oaks, Merril J. Bateman, and Charles Didier are being replaced by Elder Quentin L. Cook, Elder Claudio R. M. Costa, and Elder Steven E. Snow.

Where did that come from? There's only one vacancy in the twelve. And what happens to the recently replaced?

Hey, I rely on YOU to explain this stuff.

This happens regularly. The members of the presidency of the 70 then go back to simply serving as a full-time member of the first quorum or they are given emeritus status.

Not sure on the other two, but I believe Didier is over 70, so at least he would likely be given emeritus status.

Bateman as an apostle.......that would be the Lord trying to test me.

They've seen him at his administrative best while at the BYU.

If they put him in, there will be no doubt but that it was an inspired call.

I'm sure they think he was a success at BYU. He lessened academic freedom, purged the infidels, and raised boat loads of cash.

Don't forget the plagiarism in his first speech.

So let it be written, so let it be done.

don't send a candy bar salesman to do a university president's job.

that's why I don't get too upset about that.

What about hiding Monument to Balzac after alleging that the sculpture was engaged in self-gratification? This act solidified my respect for him, which is why I now call him Master Bateman.

You got it in the wrong order,

He raised a lot of money, he RAISED a LOT of money, and He RAISED as if from the DEAD, a LOT of money.

He purged the INFIDELS, and eliminated free speech and academic freedom.

Takes one to know one.

Is that a reference to me or Bateman? If it's a reference to Bateman, then I fundamentally disagree with your premise. I have never thought that Monument to Balzac was playing with himself, but I was obviously wrong.

Was it Bateman who wouldn't all Rodin's famous kissy-kissy sculpture on campus?

I'm guessing that's why Mike has it as his avatar.

Presidency of seventy rotates. Thing is now 70 is no longer automatic release for the first quorom some are serving well past 70.

I am pretty sure that Bateman was recently named the president of the Provo temple.
