He has had a great career. Some consider him to be the top western artist today.

My favorite western piece from him is "Pox Blanket", but I don't see it on his site.

I don't recall that one.

I knew Jim way back when he was a starving artist. He is not starving now. Not by a long shot.

That was me trying to be funny, sorry about that.

His artwork does look very nice.

Sorry. I am a little slow sometimes.

Good Mormon art:

If I can afford it, I would like to buy one of his paintings someday.

How do you know he's a good Mormon, or did you mean its for good Mormons?

to be honest I don't know if the guy is Mormon. I assume he is because he went to BYU. If he was Mormon, I don't know if he still is.

But this quote seems to indicate he is on a spiritual journey, and this good enough for me.

Smart guy...this is a good commercial idea:

"Jim's work is figurative, emphasizing movement and action. He has created many pieces depicting athletic subjects and themes. In 2004, combining his business background with his enthusiasm for sports, Jim began the series titled "Suits". This series uses sports as a metaphor to explore the competitive nature of business. "Business has become for many the sport of a lifetime," Jim says. Looking at various aspects of business life, Jim presents the contemporary businessman's daily struggle with himself and others in an ironic and humorous fashion. "

Actually, I couldn't help thinking this seemed a little provincial or sexist. He needs to do some statues of women in suits struggling up the ladder (and guys below ogling up inside the skirt).

Yes, it is a little WASPy - all anglos too. But he knows his market. Maybe you're really the artist and he's just looking for 'billable' hours in the studio.
