The worst call in BYU history.

"Gary, Val Hale here, we would like you to come to Provo and interview for the job of head football coach here at the Y".

I thought the vote was on the decision, not the explanation. As far as explanation goes, I am far more impressed with how Bronco and Anae are handling it.

Crowton's was a bad call. But made worse by a dumb QB decision of throwing against your body on a roll out into traffic. So it's kinda 50/50 on Crowton and Beck on that.

Anae's was a bad call. But a lot of coaches run the ball in that situation. Anae was guilty of blindly following what he's seen before. A coach will run the ball from the 20 with 30 seconds on the clock because you have a 1/10 chance to break it for 20 yards which sets you up to run another play for a shot at a field goal or a hail mary. Also, a fumble on the 20 usually means giving up a field goal not 7 points. But we were on the 5 and giving the ball to a big bruiser not a speed back that busts long runs. Very bad idea.

I always hate punting inside the 40.

Pretty close to a tie for all three.

A coach who has seen his star RB get thrown on his face 10 times in the first half, 5 yards back in the backfield, would not run the ball from his own 10 with 30 seconds left.

The OL was owned, and apparently Anae was the only person to not notice.

Bronco is a bit too conservative some times.

Pulling Bret Engemann at halftime of the Nevada game after he threw a pick 6 on a Hail Mary play, ruining Bret's confidence and team chemistry. Equally bad was not flying in to Reno until gameday.

First half way decent explanation for a possible upside to running it. Unga breaks it 25 yards and we would then have about 12 seconds to get in field goal range. Half way decent is giving you the benefit of the doubt I know.

Meaning that we would now be at our own 35.

I give the odds of Unga breaking a 25 yarder in that situation as about 1 in 250. The odds of him fumbling are low, but higher than the odds of him running that far, based on the production to that point in the game.

Worst game coaching in history of BYU was vs UNLV at home 2004.

Going into the game UNLV has good pass defense but awful run defense.

John Beck 34/68, 358 yds, 1 INT, 1 TD, pass rating = 96.1 and throw in 8 carries for -22 yards
Curtis Brown 8 carries, 102 yards

BYU loses to a bad UNLV team at home 24-20...two long field goals, a defensive TD, and one offensive TD
