Federal investigators and antidoping officials from the United States, including the federal agent Jeff Novitzky, have elevated their investigation of Lance Armstrong and are in France to meet with antidoping officials and members of Interpol, according to a person briefed on the investigation who spoke on condition of anonymity.

In recent weeks the investigation of Armstrong has appeared to branch out internationally. Last week authorities in Italy raided the Tuscany apartment of the Ukrainian cyclist Yaroslav Popovych, who rode with Armstrong’s 2005 Tour de France team and on Armstrong’s teams in 2009 and 2010. The raid came days after Popovych testified before the grand jury.

So Novitzsky wanted a European vacation. I wonder if he needs to head to French Polynesia too.

The popo thing is sort of crappy, IMO. He is subpoenaed for the GJ and is required to go there instead of going to a benefit ride in Texas. He is interrogated before the grand jury. According to reports (including from popo's attorney) Popo says he knows nothing about doping. then they raid his apartment looking, IMO, not for something he has done but more than likely for something that they can claim is inconsistent with his GJ testimony, putting him in peril of a Barry Bonds type perjury claim. I haven't read that they found anything good, but they are harassing people to try to intimidate them into giving them something to prove the case beside Frankie Andreu's discredited wife. Our tax dollars at work!

This is outrageous but where are the libertarians?

We have nobody policing the police!
