Since Viper started doing my taxes, I have no income.

Everything flows through my Schedule D and E and I am operating at break even thanks to all my business losses.

I guess those making less than 45k are too busy mucking about in shameful poverty to speak up. Believe me, it's ok if you're poor. It doesn't mean you're not a man, just less of one.

More schooling than Jesuits? OK, I'll plead ignorance on that analogy. You only need a 4 year degree, but then the actuarial exams typically take at least 7 years to complete. Actuarial exams are all self-directed study. No classes or anything like that.

My last exam covered 2,400 pages of material. Six hour essay exam. That's only one out of 10 exams though.

Compensation

Salaries and Benefits

Actuaries are well compensated. Experienced Fellows have the potential to earn from $150,000 to $250,000 annually. In fact, did you know that new Associate actuaries earned a higher salary than the average MBA in 2002?
Compensation may vary significantly according to years of experience, industry, geographic region, and responsibilities. For example, an actuary with a Fellowship designation working as a financial manager in the banking industry could earn a higher salary than another Fellow working in the health insurance industry.

The salary ceiling for a consulting actuary is much higher than someone working in a "traditional role".

< 5% of all actuaries make $200K+

To say that that the average income here is "probably" higher than the average American's income is ClouSeaU grade dectective work.

As a college sports board, this site draws (mostly) alumni from a private university and its in-state public rival. Most people here will have college degrees, advanced degrees, and a full-time job. Of course the average income here will be higher than a generic cross-section of middle America.

PAC being part of Silicon Valley and many Taiwanese fortunes would cast a shadow upon everybody but Seattle. PAC rubs shoulders with the rich and aristocracy of the Church, knowing him is almost like knowing a famous GA. Kip has real money, he picked the right parents and inherited.

Wrong on so many levels, even moreso now that I've taken a serious blow on the real estate front. When I'm not out chasing ambulances, I spend my days dreaming of a lifestyle that would allow me to train for hours on end, participate in far-flung athletic events, and translate correspondence between ancient philosophers and '50s recording artists from the original Greek, Latin and Coptic.
