sounds like the ban is over august 2006.

he's too old anyway.

and I'm not buying the "vanishing twin" syndrome.

Least he can do is admit he is FOS

Yep, he's done for.

I'll be curious to see if he sticks with some of these events that he is sponsoring for his foundation, ie. his "Beat Tyler Hamilton" hill climb.

Too bad I too liked the guy.

I've got a buddy that's really into following the racing and he sticks by Hamilton. He also gives Heras a 60-70% chance of not being guilty. He's adamant that the tests are severely flawed, but I've only been able to chat by Messenger lately so I can't get his reasoning behind it.

The tests are VERY flawed. The new test that nabbed Tyler is a scientific nightmare. They have no data on false positives or negatives and from what I understand the test that busted him was administered by the people who invented the test and was not blind.

Tyler had some serious points of contention and if it were a court of law in the USA he would have probably been not guilty because he would have easily created a "reasonable doubt."

Unfortunately, aside from saying how crappy and unreliable the test is, Tyler's only defense was that he might have a vanishing twin (Chimerism?).

I think he might have gone a long way toward showing that some of the testing methods are screwy but he didn't do enough to explain why he tested positive for having somebody else's red blood cells in his body twice.

I'd like to think he is innocent, but it doesn't really matter now.

Its the fact that he tested postive TWICE that bpothers me. SUre, screwy testing procuedures, biased interpreations, etc., but he gets nailed TWICE while others aren't nailed at all. Very troubling.

I find the chimera excuse very ,ame, btw, and that is after having read a number of articels about the science behind it (not that I truly understand them, but I tried).

not to mention that I read his hemogloblin/hematocrit had a HUGE jump. Something like from 30 to 45.

I judged him guilty as soon as I heard the chimeric twin defense. Lame! Is it possible he's innocent? I guess so. But I don't think it's very likely.
